We are now offering a contact-free click and collect service at some of our Builder’s Merchant locations and have taken extensive precautions to ensure the latest government safety advice is being followed at all times, the safety of our customers and colleagues remains our number one priority.

Please follow the directional signage upon arrival to maintain an appropriate social distance. A sterilisation station will be available if needed, please ask one of our colleagues to point you in the right direction.

Equipment Collection

    • Once your order has been placed, we will call you to arrange a time slot to collect your equipment. Please do not come to the branch without this pre-agreed time as you may not be served
    • Upon arrival, you must park in the designated area and remain in your vehicle. A HSS colleague will soon be with you
    • The equipment will be taken to the designated “safe zone’” and all petrol kit will be started to show it working safely. During this time, you must wait in your vehicle
    • The HSS colleague will then go back into the building, at which time you may exit your vehicle, load the equipment and leave
    • No assisted lifting between HSS staff and customers is permitted
    • To assist with equipment loading, there will be a sack barrow/pallet truck/ lifting table as required. These will be sanitised after each use, but we also encourage you to wear gloves and take infection precautions. You must ensure that you can move and load the equipment safely yourself without causing injury or damage. HSS are not responsible for any personal injury or vehicle damage caused whilst loading your own vehicles

Equipment Returns

    • HSS will call you to arrange a time to come to our branch to return the equipment you have on hire. You must park in the designated area upon arrival and remain in your vehicle
    • Upon arrival at our branch, when instructed you should offload the equipment into the safe zone and get back into your vehicle and await further instructions.
    • No assisted lifting between HSS staff and customers is permitted
    • To assist with equipment off-loading, there will be a sack barrow/pallet truck/ lifting table as required. These will be sanitised after each use, but we also encourage you to wear gloves and take infection precautions. You must ensure that you can move the equipment safely yourself without causing injury or damage. HSS are not responsible for any personal injury or vehicle damage caused whilst loading your own vehicles
    • The HSS colleague will then examine the equipment to confirm the correct items have been returned and there’s no damage. We will then record the equipment return and place a copy of this in the safe zone for you to pick up once our colleague has gone back into the branch
