Garden gnomes 'making their way back into gardens'

Gnomes may be about to come back into trend in the gardens of tool hire users, according to an insurance firm's new study.
MORE TH>N has revealed that 18 per cent of gnome-ownership comes from over-55s, while the 18 to 24 year olds are the next most popular consumers, accounting for 16 per cent.
However, anyone with these traditional items in their gardens should act to keep them safe, as over one in four owners have had at least one gnome-related theft to deal with.
A new gnome by the insurance company, called Chip, could help. It comes electronically chipped and the first has been donated to Eve Stuart-Kelso, who had a gnome stolen in 2008 only for it to appear again over half a year later – complete with a worldwide photo album!
Pete Markey, spokesperson for MORE TH>N, said: "Gnoming is already a problem and it could become more prevalent if people do not start taking the issue of garden security more seriously."
The Association of British Insurers recently urged gardeners to keep any valuable outside property locked inside a garden shed at night or when a home is unoccupied.
