Tool hire users have been given a number of tips to help them become more energy efficient in the home.
Using tool hire and fixing dripping taps and buying a displacement device for a toilet flush are both ways to save water usage.
Meanwhile, home improvements, like fitting secondary window glazing or swapping light bulbs for more efficient ones, are also ways that Michael Holmes, spokesperson for the National Home Improvement Show, believes homeowners could go greener.
He also believes property owners should look at altering the way they do tasks in the home, as using a dishwasher when washing and making alternate travel methods instead of a car can all take a step in the right direction.
Mr Holmes added: "Alternatively, buy a jacket for your boiler. It will save ten per cent on your energy bill and reduce the temperature on your boiler by one degree."
It follows a report released by Halifax that found that making structural changes would be a step considered by 62 per cent of people when they move property.
