An entire property's lawn can benefit from getting the garden tools out and pruning, according to one source.
Stephen Lacey told the Telegraph how he has noticed a positive difference to his garden when he removed a rowan tree to allow sunlight to grace the entire location.
Some of the benefits he felt by making that decision included seeing double the amount of blue and white globes in the pots of Agapanthus africanus flowers compared to previous years, as well as allowing plants to bloom for longer and sunlight to fill a garden even into the late evening sunsets.
Mr Lacey said: "If you live with the same garden for a long time … and you have planted trees and shrubs fairly liberally, the mood can easily start to become a little gothic."
