These RS PRO earplugs are used to ensure noise reduction in louder environments, while still being suitable for tough jobs and harsh working environments. By using the sound-absorbing foam and being directly inserted into the user’s ear canal, these earplugs can easily filter out harmful noises, making them an ideal piece of equipment for protecting hearing. Features and Benefits: • These RS PRO uncorded earplugs are made from PU Foam which is lightweight and durable for use in any environment • The PU foam is a sound-absorbing foam that filters harmful or damaging noises out that can cause discomfort, allowing optimum protection for the wearer • Soft ear cushioning that moulds to the ear and offers superior comfort, all day long • Can be combined with ear defenders for better protection • Each pair of foam earplugs is supplied within a hygienic polybag along with fitting instructions • Individually packed for vending machines being used within the industry • 30 dB SNR Applications: When working in an environment where loud or repetitive noises are prevalent, hearing protection is an essential part of PPE to ensure employees do not damage their hearing. These earplugs reduce and deflect loud noises by sitting inside and protecting the ears. Each earplug has an SNR (Single Number Rating) to ensure it can be used at the appropriate noise levels to ensure it works effectively in reducing the risk of hearing damage. Earplugs or ear protection as part of PPE workwear is generally used by the following industries: • Construction • Factory production • Maintenance engineers • Extreme industrial noise • Aircraft • Quarrying • Paper mills • Heavy engineering Standards and Certifications: • EN 352-2 (SNR 30dB) • CE-CAT III Do earplugs block out sound? Earplugs reduce the amount of sound coming through from loud or repetitive noises that could potentially damage an individual’s hearing or cause hearing loss. They do not completely block out noise, however, when selecting the correct earplugs, it can reduce the risk of damage to hearing. When should ear protection be worn? Generally, ear protection should be worn when working with loud or repetitive noises that measure above 85 decibels over an 8-hour time period. There are, however, parameters that are set by the OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) that consider the exposed time period to noises over 85 decibels and when hearing protection is absolutely essential. What is the best noise reduction rating (NRR)? The highest NRR rating for earplugs is 33. Combined with ear defenders, this rating can increase to an even higher rating of 36. Why RS PRO? RS PRO is our own brand range and brings you a wide range of high-quality, great value products offering you more choice. Trusted by engineers all over the world, every part of every RS PRO product has been rigorously tested against demanding industry standards; they’re only given the RS PRO seal of approval if we’re confident of their exceptional quality, which means you can be confident too.
