For health and safety reasons, it's important that building sites are well-lit so workers can complete their jobs safely and efficiently. A mixture of lighting can be used in order to ensure all areas of your construction site are lit appropriately and meet UK safety regulations.
In this blog, we discuss how to keep your building sites well-lit from the entrances & exits, main working area or walkways.
Construction site lighting options
Smithlight – This is a battery powered LED light. It’s energy efficient and is the ‘greener’ alternative to the more traditional types of lighting which are halogen, fluorescent and incandescent lighting. It can either be used just as a single work light to light up a certain area, or in multiples to light up places like walkways. It is also portable so is ideal if work moves around a site. It features a unique base that allows it to be positioned on a flat surface but also can be attached to a tripod or brackets.
Plasterer Light – This LED stick light is ideal for providing diffused light that reduces glare for more intricate indoor jobs. It provides a bright white light and features 2 16A sockets so can be joined up to additional lighting if required.
Festoon Lights – These lights are used for general, low-level lighting. They are a very traditional way of lighting up an area, you can string them along scaffolding, fencing or trees. They have safe, weatherproof bulb holders and 10 bulbs set 2 metres apart from one another. The total length of them is 22 metres, ideal for lining pathways or escape routes. At HSS we offer LED festoon lights for hire or you can buy LED festoon lights here.
