Leaf Blowers are an extremely useful garden tool for moving leaves and other debris to one place so it's easier to clean up and dispose of. If you have a big garden or do gardening for a living, you may find having one in your collection is handy. Convenient & fast, they can cut garden tidying time down significantly and saves you the trouble of using a broom. But what features are you supposed to look for when you're buying a leaf blower?
We have put together some information to help you find the best leaf blower for your garden clean up.
Leaf Blower Features
Corded or Cordless - Before buying your leaf blower, it's best to think about whether a corded or cordless model would suit your needs best. For smaller areas, a corded leaf blower may be suitable as you won't need to travel far to from the power socket. For larger gardens, a cordless leaf blower will allow you to walk around freely to tidy your garden without the restriction of a power cord.
Power Rating - The amount of power your leaf blower has can determine the range in which it can reach. Leaf blower power outputs can be anywhere between 700-3000W so the higher the watt means more power and you'll be able to cover larger areas from further away.
Electric or Petrol Powered - Both types of leaf blower have their advantages. Most petrol powered leaf blowers tend to be more powerful than some electric models, they vibrate harder which will cause arm fatigue, they are louder & also release hazardous fumes in to the environment. Electric powered leaf blowers are a lot quieter when in use and vibrate less so you'll feel less arm fatigue & they don't produce fumes. Although they are environmentally friendlier than petrol leaf blowers, electric models may have less of a run time if they are battery operated.
Weight - Every leaf blower model has a certain weight so it's important you check what that is before you buy or hire one. Be sure to choose one that you'll find comfortable to carry around for periods of time that won't cause you any injuries from being too heavy.
