Questions
Alloy towers are used to provide safe & secure access when working at a height.
They are commonly used for:
- Painting
- Plastering
- Electrical installations
- General maintenance
- Construction tasks
This is a span-type alloy tower. It's suitable for general site access and can be used both indoors or outdoors.
Platform height refers to distance between the ground & the top of the platfrom -where you stand on the tower. Working height is the estimated maximum height a person can comfortably reach while standing on the platform. This is usually around 1.5 - 2 metres.
So for example, if the tower's platform height is 8 metres & you can reach an additional 2 metres, the working height for the tower is approximately 10 metres.
Yes, the tower is easy to move on site as it has adjustable locking castor wheels.
The tower comes with the following safety equipment:
- Safety boards
- Stabilisers
- Locking castors
You’ll need a vehicle at least the size of a truck to collect or transport this tower due to its size and components.
Assembling an alloy tower is typically a two-person task for safety, especially for heights over 3m. Always follow manufacturer instructions and use safety equipment.
While training isn’t legally required for all users, it’s highly recommended. PASMA-certified training is available through HSS Training. View details of the courses here.
PASMA (Prefabricated Access Suppliers’ and Manufacturers’ Association) training focuses on the safe use and assembly of mobile access towers. It’s highly recommended for both professional and DIY users to reduce risk and ensure legal compliance on job sites. View details of the courses here.
