Product name: 8 Yard Skip Hire - General Waste
Product code: 19090
The 8 yard skip, now available to book online at HSS, is the second most popular skip size and is the largest option available for heavy waste like concrete, soil and rubble. Commonly used for residential refurbishment projects, shop refits and office clearances, this skip can hold 60-75 bin bags, making it ideal for handling bulky waste. Often referred to as a "builders skip" due to its widespread use in the construction trade, the 8 yard skip is perfect for large home improvement projects and any task that requires a significant capacity for heavy materials. Whether you’re renovating or clearing out, this skip provides the robust solution you need to get the job done.
Enjoy a 14-day maximum hire period, which gives you ample time to complete your project at your own pace. Wish to have the skip collected earlier? You can call 0345 608 8811 to schedule the skip to be returned early. Please note the same charge applies if the skip is collected within 14 days. Please contact our online chat team for more information about hire periods.
Please note that the skip must be located off-road, ensuring easy access and compliance with regulations. Off-road means the skip must be located on private property (eg. driveway, garden or private car park) and not on public highway. Looking for on-road hire? Speak to our Live Chat team who will be able to assist you.
The skip is intended for mixed general waste, so you can get rid of non-hazardous bulky waste that is then taken to licensed commercial recycling facilities and disposed of in an environmentally responsible way.
For regulatory and health & safety reasons, you CANNOT dispose of the following prohibited items and materials in the skip: Asbestos, biological or medical waste, batteries, electrical appliances (WEEE), fluorescent tubes, fridges, freezers or aircon units, TVs or computer screens, gas bottles or Fire extinguishers, oil, petrol or diesel, mattresses, paint or paint cans (unless empty), plasterboard (unless bagged & clearly marked), solvents or toxic waste, tyres or upholstered domestic seating (POPs).
Please note that if any prohibited items are discovered during the emptying of your skip, you are likely to be charged extra and the restricted items will be returned to you. If your skip is placed in an open or public area, we recommend monitoring it closely, as others may add their rubbish to it. Unfortunately, you will be responsible for any waste found in your skip, even if it’s not yours.
