This equipment is designed for use as an arrest retrieval system in confined spaces. Should a fall occur, the cable is pulled out at an accelerating rate and when a speed of 1.5m/second is reached the braking system is activated to cushion the fall. Once the fall is arrested the winch system can be operated to raise or lower the user back to safety.
