Heating Solutions for the Office

Updated - October 5th 2023

As temperatures start to drop and it becomes increasingly colder, it's important to ensure that your working environment is properly heated.

Keeping the temperature at optimum level - between 21° and 23°C - is essential to ensure all employees are comfortable, motivated and ultimately more productive. If the temperature in the drops in the office, it can have a number of negative effects including illnesses such as colds.

At HSS, we have a variety of commercial heaters to keep you and your colleagues warm whilst at work.

Infrared Heaters

Infrared or radiant heaters emit heat which is very intense and localised. They can generally project heat up to 6m and are used for keeping people warm and assisting with drying paintwork and plaster. Infrared heaters use high frequency heat waves which penetrate the air without heating which means they heat people and objects, not the atmosphere. These heaters are great for offices as they heat people quickly and they have lower running costs because no heat is lost through drafts.

Fan Heaters

Fan heaters are a popular choice for office heating. They are ideal for heating small spaces and make a great portable temporary heating solution. The heaters have overheat protection and are thermostat controlled for safety, so the units will turn off when your desired room temperature has been reached. They also have automatic tip-over cut out protection which stops the unit toppling over. As fan heaters have low noise emission, they work well in offices and other quieter working environments.

Indirect Fuel Heaters

For large offices or events, indirect fuel heaters may be necessary. These types of heaters pump large volumes of warm, clean, dry air into a space without raising humidity levels. Indirect fuel heaters are great to use in spaces where ventilation is limited and they can also be used for drying applications in conjunction with dehumidifiers.
