Questions
No, safety equipment is not supplied with the item.
Yes, we include a heavy duty RCD breaker for use with the Floor Sander.
The difference between grit sheets is the finish and effect they have on materials. The higher the number, the finer the grit sheet is whereas the coarseness increases as the grit sheet number lowers. For example, you may need to begin with coarser sandpaper for wood to remove tough varnishes and level your floor before coming down to a fine paper that ensures a smooth finish.
No, this sander can't be used on the edges of your room but the floor edging sander can. The floor edging sander is designed for getting close to skirting boards & edges easier than a standard sander. Using both tools for your flooring project will give you a clean, professional finish.
You can hire both the floor & edging sander together as a hire pack.
The sander is a 240V tool that can be plugged into the mains. An RCD plug is recommended for optimum safety but not mandatory.
The extension cable is 5 metres long.
This sander is a Hiretech HT8 model.
A drum floor sander is used to strip finishes, stains, and top layers from wood floors and to smooth out uneven surfaces before refinishing or sealing.
Yes - the sander breaks down into three components, making it easier to load into a vehicle and carry to your project location. You’ll need a vehicle at least the size of an estate car for collection.
This floor sander is suitable for wood floorboards, block wooden floors, and traditional parquet.
The sander must be used with a disposable dust bag, which provides an efficient way to collect dust. A dust extractor is also recommended for optimal cleanliness and safety.
Yes, the sander can damage pipework or fittings so care must be taken around visible pipework, as the coarse sanding sheets may damage unprotected surfaces.
Due to its medium vibration risk, it can be used for up to 2 hours before reaching the vibration Exposure Limit Value (ELV). Take regular breaks and follow recommended usage limits.
Remove all furniture, nails, staples, and tacks from the floor. Ensure the surface is dry and secure any loose floorboards before beginning.
