It's the most wonderful time of the year again & the moment to put up the Christmas lights has arrived!
Whether you go all out and deck out your entire house or if you prefer something more subtle, it's important you know how to safely put up your Christmas lights.
Before buying your lights, there are a couple of things to take in to consideration.
When you've bought the Christmas lights, it's important you test that they work before you hang them outside. Once you know that they work perfectly, you'll need some suitable ladders. If you don't have any at home, you can hire ladders from HSS.
There are different ways you can hang your Christmas lights outside of your house. You can use gutter hooks & decorating clips, you can drill holes in the mortar or you can use strong glue with a glue gun. Once you have planned out where your lights will be, you can use your ladders to start positioning & installing your festive lights.
When all the lights have been positioned & placed over the light hooks, simply switch them on and enjoy the view.
Instead of covering the whole exterior of your house in Christmas lights, why not bring people’s eyes down to your garden, where the contrast between the dark foliage and your sparkly lights can really shine? Mark the path to your door with modern Christmas tree shapes or wind white or coloured outdoor lights around small shrubs and bushes for festive feel all around your garden!
If you have an trees in your garden, why not decorate them? Get some weatherproof lights, tinsel & baubles and bring some of your Christmas spirit outdoors. Add a tree to expand on your Christmas house lights or use them as a stand alone festive centerpiece.
No matter what Christmas outdoor lights and decorations you choose, make sure you use suitable ladders to keep you safe whilst working at a height.
